One of the important topics for Buddhists at the II International Buddhist Forum will be the celebration of the 260th anniversary of the establishment of the Pandito Hambo Lama Institution in Russia.
This was announced by Dr. Dymbryl Dashibaldanov, a doctor of Buddhist philosophy and rector of the Buddhist University “Dashi Choinkhorlin” named after D.D. Zayaev.
The events will be held as part of the annual celebration of “Etigel Khambo Lama Nayr”:
On September 6, the opening of the Tsogchen-dugan at Ivolginsky Datsan will take place.
On September 7, the monument “Ceremony of Recognition of Buddhism in Russia” will be unveiled.
A number of public events are also planned, with invitations extended to guests from the Buddhist regions of Russia, including Tuva, Altai, Kalmykia, and others.
The representative of the Buddhist University also emphasized that interest from the global community in the International Buddhist Forum has markedly increased, both from religious and scientific sectors.
“Within the framework of last year’s forum, we signed a consortium between secular and Buddhist universities. This year, two foreign universities and one Russian university have already expressed a desire to participate in joint research on various topics. We also plan to exchange students and teaching staff,” said Lama Dymbryl Dashibaldanov.
