The White Tara meditation practice will be held in Ulan-Ude on August 4, on the eve of the II International Buddhist Forum
The White Tara meditation practice (the Buddhist deity of meditation and longevity) and the construction of a sand mandala will take place on the eve of the II International Buddhist Forum. The practice will begin on August 4 at the Druzhba Sports and Fitness Center (72 Prospekt Stroiteley) at 10:00.
Residents and guests of the capital of Buryatia are invited to observe the construction of the sacred mandala and to participate in the main events of the meditation practice. These include lectures, lunga bestowing for reciting the mantra of White Tara, and the ritual of long life known as Tsedo. Following the activities, there will be an analysis of the mandala of White Tara, and attendees will receive some of the sand from the mandala.
The rector of the Buddhist University “Dashi Choinkhorlin”, named after D.D. Zayaev, Gabzha Lama Dymbryl Dashibaldanov will grant the transmission and recitation of the mantra of White Tara. He will discuss Buddhist teachings in general, along with methods for training the mind that help maintain self-control and concentration. The deity White Tara is one of the three deities of longevity and is associated with meditation practices for long life. She removes obstacles and helps individuals manage stress.
May we remind you that the II International Buddhist Forum “Traditional Buddhism and Modern Challenges” will be held from August 12 to 14 in Ulan-Ude. The forum is being organized in anticipation of the 260th anniversary of the establishment of the Pandito Khambo Lama Institution, the heads of Buddhist communities in Russia. The purpose of the II International Buddhist Forum is to foster a comprehensive discussion on the development of Buddhism, Buddhist culture, philosophy and practice.
