Address by the participants of the 1st International Buddhist Forum «Traditional Buddhism and challenges of modernity»:

We, the participants of the International Buddhist Forum, express our unity in the desire to share our knowledge, experience and aspirations to achieve peace and harmony as the only true choice of humanity in the name of its common better future. We have come together to openly discuss the current problems of modernity and Buddhism, with its rich traditions and teachings that continue to inspire and transform the lives of millions of people around the world. We are deeply grateful to the Russian organizers of the Forum, Buryatia and the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia for the worthy initiative to create a space of understanding and dialogue imbued with Buddhist spiritual experience. The Forum has become a platform for bringing together people of different cultures, nationalities and religious schools who share a common commitment to the search for goodness and truth. We are witnessing and participating in the wonderful exchange of ideas, teachings and practices of Buddhism that take place on this platform. Thanks to your diligence and dedication, we have the opportunity to enrich the understanding of Buddhist teaching and the basics of applying its principles in everyday life. We are aware that Buddhism extends beyond national borders and cultural differences. Our forum allowed us to meet people from different countries and traditions, and also confirmed our belief in the unity and interconnectedness of all living beings.

We deeply appreciate the opportunity to establish new connections and develop cooperation with such a diverse and inspiring community. We are also aware of the importance of studying, preserving and continuing the unique traditions and heritage of Buddhism. We call for special attention to the development of education programs in the field of science and ethics to ensure a safe and prosperous world and the issues of educating young people on the basis of true spiritual values so that Buddhist wisdom and practice remain accessible to future generations. During our discussions and exchange of views, we came to realize the importance of cooperation and mutual support in our quest for peace and well-being of all living beings. We call on all Buddhist organizations and practitioners around the world to unite to expand our efforts in promoting harmony, understanding and compassion. We address to all leaders of countries and faiths, to all people of good will to unite our efforts to build a safe, just and prosperous world on our planet.

With the wishes of universal peace and prosperity! May the Three Jewels – Buddha, Dharma and Sangha - keep you safe!
