A martial arts festival is planned as one of the events at the II International Buddhist Forum "Traditional Buddhism and Modern Challenges", which will be held in Ulan-Ude from August 12 to 14.

"We have one of the best Wushu federations in the country and a strong karate federation. We would like to give master classes, deliver public lectures and hold discussions. The Shaolin Temple and the Wushu Federation of the Republic of Buryatia signed an agreement on joint activities during the first international forum. I think that we will also be able to demonstrate the results of this cooperation", Irina Dorzhieva, Deputy Chief of Information Policy, Public Relations and Public Projects Department, Chief Executive and Government Administration in the Republic of Buryatia, said during a press conference at Russia Today international media group press centre.

The first forum was held in Buryatia on August 17-19, 2023. The forum is organized by the Government of the Republic of Buryatia, the Foundation for the Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research, the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia with the support of the President of Russia, the Government of Russia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
